Camberley has a lot to offer and it’s getting even better

Camberley is undergoing transformation to create a unique, vibrant, and modern town centre.

Camberley Town Centre

Our vision for the town centre is built on the many strengths and attributes that Camberley already possesses including:

A highly affluent primary catchment population – ranked 6th in the PMA Affluence Indicator, as one of the highest-earning resident populations in the country.

Over 66% are categorised within the ABC1 socio-economic groups, with a very strong local skills base and a high demand for quality housing.

The surrounding area also benefits from key industries such as manufacturing, health technologies and pharmaceuticals along with strengths in emerging future growth sectors such as film production, the creative industries and the green economy.

Easy and uncongested access to the town centre from major road networks including the A30 and M3 (3 miles), with a close proximity to London (32 miles), the M25 Motorway (11 miles) and Heathrow Airport (17 miles).

Convenient location between Bracknell (8 miles), Woking (12 miles) and Guildford (16 miles), as well as regional centres further afield such as Reading and Basingstoke.

Excellent access with generous parking as well as being well served for public transport.

A compact and walkable town centre, which is relatively flat, logically laid out and accessible with much of it pedestrianised, featuring a theatre, multiplex cinema, central railway station and green spaces all within a few minutes’ walk.

Low vacancy rates in the town centre – 23% below national average (PMA promis 2023), with a thriving independent sector – 51% (105 stores) are independent, driving an entrepreneurial spirit.

A highly engaged business leadership supported by a high performing Business Improvement District (BID) – Collective Camberley (collectivelycamberley.co.uk).

A vibrant leisure and entertainment offer and an established programme of activities and events attracting high footfall.

Significant Borough Council ownership within the town centre alongside a strong ambition and commitment and a track-record of partnership working to deliver robust redevelopment opportunities that enable substantial investment and returns.
